We are sad to report the death of Allan Blundell MBE, aged 89 He held the position of Senior Vice President of the club for more than 25 years, was one of the trustees (holding the lease for the pitch) and was a past regular player and keen supporter of the club's activities. He was extremely well known and liked in Copford and very much a stalwart, indeed the backbone, of village life. His MBE was awarded in 2021 for services to education (having chaired the governors of Colchester County High School for Girls) but also for his work with our club and the church. It gave him great pride and was well deserved. We were very lucky and honoured to have had Allan as a friend to the club and he will be much missed by all.
